This watercolour and pen and ink painting of Mount Cartier was the first Revelstoke-inspired piece I made when I arrived in town. I was excited to be in a new place, stressed about Covid, glad it was spring, nervous about building community in such uncertain times, and thrilled to be surrounded by new mountains to explore. I loved playing around with this vibrant colour palette, and felt the endless possibilities of the future stretching out in the “wild blue yonder” of the valleys and hills in the background.
