Ha Ling Peak 16x20" Original

Ha Ling Peak 16x20" Original
This painting depicts one of the most beloved and popular mountains in Canmore- Ha Ling peak. Locals run it before work, photographers hurry up in the dark to catch sunrise, families make their way up on sunny Sundays, kids stand proudly celebrating their first offical summit. Paragliders leap off the top to soar on thermals rising through the valley, and climbers ascend the many routes on its iconic face.
This is the view from another popular hike, the East End of Rundle. I wanted to paint the steep face to show the peak in all of it’s dramatic glory, along with the beautiful colours of the glacier fed ‘Whitemans Pond’ beside it, which is a popular (very chilly) swimming spot in the summer.
This 16x20” original watercolour painting comes float mounted on a white mat and framed in a 22x26” natural wood frame.
