Corona Arch 8x10” Original
Corona Arch 8x10” Original
This piece was painted over the course of two days- I hiked to Corona Arch around dinner time one night and spent the evening sketching and painting as the sun set. I was really in the flow and not ready to leave, so I pulled out my headlamp and kept painting until darkness truly fell and I couldn’t see the arch anymore. I hiked down in the dark and camped nearby so that I could get an early start the next morning. I headed back up as soon as I woke up, and was greeted by a raven who soared silently through the massive arch and over my head as I sat down. I spent several hours painting as hikers came and went and the sun blazed down on me, making my fingers slip on my brushes as I sweat and feverishly applied sunscreen. I finished the piece as the sun hit the height of its arc in the sky, and gratefully stumbled into the shade and back down the trail.
This 8x10” watercolour and pen and ink original comes float mounted on a white mat and framed in an 11x14” white frame.
