View from Red Lady Mountain 5.5x8.25” Original
While visiting Zion National Park, Utah, my friend Cece offered to take my sister and I on a little known hike called Red Lady Mountain. This was the original Angel’s Landing hike, but was de-commissioned due to too many deaths and accidents on the trail. There used to be ladders and chains on the trail, but they were removed once the trail was taken off the park maps. We took climbing gear with us, and worked our way up the mountain with a combination of climbing, hiking and scrambling. The view from the top was spectacular, and we didn’t see a single person all day. On our way back down, we stopped halfway and started painting the view of the sprawling valley below us. We got a little carried away, and ended up missing the last shuttle bus out of the valley. A kind dad took pity on us and drove us out of the park and back to our car, where we headed home and ended up having dinner at 10 o’clock. A big day of adventure, and well worth the very delayed meal at the end of it all.
This 5.5x8.25” watercolour and pen and ink original comes float mounted on a white mat and framed in an 8x10” white frame.
